Cheryl Brooking is a shareholder with the firm of Wohlforth, Johnson, Brecht, Cartledge & Brooking whose areas of practice are primarily in municipal law, zoning and land use, public lands, environmental, natural resources (mining, oil and gas, timber), real property, native law, public finance, business and corporate law, admiralty and maritime law, and employment law. Her practice includes advising governmental bodies, business clients and other individuals on issues involving contracts, litigation, negotiations and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. She is a regular speaker at various events, and offers a comprehensive legal background. In 1999 she presented a CLE to municipal attorneys on the constitutional requirements and issues surrounding municipal curfew ordinances. She presented a CLE on Alaska hazardous waste law in 1994. She has presented seminars on estate planning, employment law, and starting a business in Alaska. For the past several years she presented annual CLEs on Alaska Open Meetings and Public Records Law.
