Robert Johnson is a shareholder with the firm of Wohlforth, Johnson, Brecht, Cartledge & Brooking whose practice emphasizes litigation, labor, and administrative law. He represents diverse employers, including a major fuel distributor, municipalities, and North Slope contractors on labor and employment issues. He negotiates real estate, commercial lease, and labor contracts on behalf of public and private clients. He represented the State of Alaska in the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill litigation. He offers skills regarding labor matters and the Public Employment Relations Act. Prior to beginning private practice, he served as Petroleum Revenue Director for the State of Alaska, and handled labor and employment matters as an Assistant Attorney General. His experience includes securities law and fiduciary breach claims. Representative clients of Mr. Johnson include the City of Seward, Kodiak Island Borough, and Anchorage Sand & Gravel Co., Inc. and as general counsel to the Alaska Retirement Management Board (the successor to the Public Employees' Retirement Board, the Teachers' Retirement Board and the Alaska State Pension Investment Board). He has litigated in all levels of state and federal courts in Alaska, and has appeared before numerous administrative agencies such as the Labor Relations Agency, Immigration and Naturalization Service, FERC, IRS, municipal assemblies and zoning boards.
