Leila R. Kimbrell joined the firm in 2008. Her practice places a strong emphasis in municipal law and involves all levels of civil litigation. In a more limited sense, Ms. Kimbrell's practice also involves the transactional practice of the firm including public financings and real estate and business transactions.
Before joining Wohlforth, Brecht, Cartledge & Brooking, Ms. Kimbrell worked in local government where she gained significant experience in all aspects of municipal governance, including planning and zoning, code enforcement, and resolution and ordinance interpretation and drafting. She assists municipalities on a daily basis in recovery of delinquent sales taxes, unpaid fines and traffic citations. Ms. Kimbrell works with all levels of local government and regularly advises boards, commissions, councils and assemblies.
Ms. Kimbrell is a life-long Alaskan born and raised on her family's homestead on the Kenai Peninsula. She is active in the Anchorage Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, as well as the Alaska Bar Association's New Lawyer Division and Municipal Law Sections. She spends much of her free time volunteering for community service projects through these organizations.
